# ELS Usage Policy

## Overview

Emergency Lighting System (**ELS**) is strictly regulated and must only be used in a controlled and professional manner while on duty.

Misuse of ELS may result in restrictions or removal of access for the entire staff team.

***

## Approved Usage

ELS may only be used under the following conditions:

* Stage 1 ELS is permitted at all times while on duty.
* Staff may use ELS (Stage 1) while patrolling or responding to situations.
* Staff may initiate traffic stops using ELS; however, it is recommended to use moderation commands rather than relying on vehicle interaction.

***

## Prohibited Usage

ELS must NOT be used for:

* Pursuits (10-80 situations)
* Roleplay escalation or chase initiation
* Any form of aggressive driving or enforcement outside moderation duties
* Any non-professional or abusive behaviour

ELS is not to be used as a tool for gameplay advantage or pursuit engagement.

***

## Professional Expectations

Staff are expected to:

* Use moderation commands over vehicle interaction whenever possible
* Maintain professionalism while on duty
* Avoid unnecessary activation or misuse of ELS
* Ensure ELS usage does not interfere with roleplay flow

***

## Consequences of Misuse

Improper use or abuse of ELS may result in:

* Restrictions placed on ELS access for the entire staff team
* Strikes or disciplinary action depending on severity
* Removal of privileges for repeated or severe misuse

***

## Important Notes

* ELS is a **support tool for moderation**, not a pursuit or enforcement system.
* All staff members are expected to use ELS responsibly and professionally at all times.
* Misuse affects not only the individual but may result in team-wide restrictions.
